Raised in New York City and St Thomas in the US Virgin Islands, Serena is inspired by both urban and tropical culture. This is evidenced through her use of an intense, vibrant palette in her paintings and an affinity with earthy and organic elements in her sculpture and furniture designs. She is inclined to pursue various media, expanding her creative and practical use of material to gain new perspectives.
Recently completing her senior year at Connecticut College, she majored in Architectural Studies and Art History. Within these disciplines she has studied across many different mediums and techniques within the fields of architecture, design and studio work. Incorporating a sensitivity to natural color, light and texture to her work, she always attempts to maintain sustainable practices through materials and minimal waste.
Her experiences traveling to many countries have further inspired her to create balanced environments and objects in harmony with nature and the planet.
